This is the second Kickstarter campaign for Sultan’s Library, with the first one not quite reaching its funding goal. Photon Games has made some crucial adjustments to their campaign, such as a much lower funding goal and a price point of only $18 USD to get the physical game. They are also offering some great reward tiers, such as a beautifully illustrated playmat and an artbook to really show off the artistic talents of Zane Atkinson.
About the Game
Sultan’s Library is a 2 4 player card game where players will explore various beautiful location cards, looking for Books to bring back to the Sultan’s Library. However, the land is filled with ominous perils and awe inspiring events, wherein an unwary traveler might easily succumb. In the end, only one person will have the honor to become the Sultan’s chosen Envoy. Will it be you?
Each turn consists of 3 phases: Draw, Explore and Score.
1. Draw: In the Draw phase you draw two cards from the Action Deck. Action cards will let you do things like Travel somewhere without paying, make other players lose Actions etc. The Action Deck also has Journey cards in it, which allows you to pay for the various things you will be doing in the game.
2. Explore: In the Explore phase, you will pay Explore points to look around the area you are in for Books. If there are no Books near you, you will automatically move on to the next Location. You have 2 Actions per turn. You can do things like Explore the Area, Play Action Cards, Pickup and Deposit Books and more.
3. Score: If someone has Deposited 3 Books during the Score phase, the players finish out the round. You Score as much Knowledge as is indicated on all your Deposited Books. Whoever scored the most Knowledge wins!

The Blood Map Synopsis: Bob Ford, the man charged with the murder of Jesse James, has found Jesse James’ map to some hidden treasure. Before Ford could find the treasure, he was murdered and the map was never seen again. There is only a small window of time (1 hour) to see it through. Unfortunately, you don’t know the whole plan, but luckily there were clues left for you to find. You will just have to figure it out. Do you have what it takes to find the map before time runs out?
NM Escape Room is opening their first location at 3916 Carlisle Blvd. NE Suite C, Albuquerque, NM 87107 located on Carlisle, just North of Comanche. The primary location will open its doors with one themed room, but there are plans to expand the location to include three, separate themed rooms.

Tantrum House, a Greenville-based board game company, launched a Kickstarter campaign for its game Steam Court on May 28. For a pledge of $25, backers will receive a copy of the game and any unlocked stretch goals.
Steam Court is a card game for 3-10 players that takes 60-90 minutes to play. The basic gameplay is similar to the trick-taking game President, or Scum. But Steam Court goes beyond the basics and adds special cards and different character powers for each player. The mixture of familiar gameplay and added strategy puts Steam Court in the “gateway” game category. It’s accessible to casual gamers, but also deep enough for gamers who prefer more strategy. “We’ve found that it works really well as a party game too” says the game’s designer, Will Meadows. “It’s easy to teach, and it’s flexible enough that if players want to drop in or out half way through it doesn’t mess up the game’s flow.”
In Steam Court, players take on the role of Court Engineers who attempt to catch the eye of the Queen and other high-ranking courtiers by displaying their mechanical prowess. Using their dealt hands of gear cards, players try to take tricks with the ultimate goal of being the first to play all their cards. The Queen rewards such displays of skill by snatching up the most successful engineer as her own — and awarding that player the most victory points. Each Quarter, players switch characters depending on the order they went out. The player who amasses the most points by the end of the fourth Quarter wins. For a more casual game, Steam Court has a simpler, non-victory point variant.
Tantrum House is a company run by board game lovers, critiquers, and designers. In addition to designing Steam Court, Tantrum House publishes high quality, but very concise video reviews of board games on their YouTube channel. They host monthly game nights at a local coffee shop, design custom tabletop themed apparel, and have ideas for a number of new board games that they would like to bring to market in the future.
